Project 52 Week 52: “Holiday”

A New Year is right around the corner!  I’m not sure about you, but I’m ready for 2017!!!  This is the 52 Week Pet Photography Project’s final week and it’s called “Holiday”!  I jumped on board with this wonderful blogging group at the end of July this year.  It’s been so much fun getting out there and shooting all types of topics, especially following along with the chapters in David Duchemin’s book, “The Visual Toolbox“.    I’ve enjoyed sharing photos each week and telling you all a little bit about them.  I’ve enjoyed learning from all of the other amazing Pet Photographers in the Blog Circle.  There is still so much to learn!  I’m looking forward to continuing on in 2017 and hope you will be here to follow.  Yes, there’s a goal for me and I’m writing it down:  To blog EVERY week!

My holiday post is simple!  We had a nice and relaxing Christmas at home.  My husband, Pete, me, and Kota.  I made homemade pierogies – my Polish Grandmother’s recipe that she passed along.  It’s a wonderful memory.  Growing up I used to get together one day during the fall with my mom and her mom and we would spend an entire day making pierogies from scratch.  We’d freeze dozens to have for Christmas.  My favorite are filled with farmer’s cheese and mashed potatoes.  We’d sautee them in butter and onions.  I still follow the same recipe!  This year, we also enjoyed grilled steak tips, yummy desserts, and  lots of  laughs from one of my favorite movies, “Christmas Vacation”!  Sometimes it’s nice to stay off the roads and just enjoy a peaceful Holiday in the comfort of you own home 🙂

Merry Christmas!

I also enjoyed photographing adoptable pups at our local MSPCA this Holiday Season!  Savage Universal was so kind to donate this Gray Sky seamless paper to be used for our photo shoot!  Lily was adopted and Gary is wishing for his forever home to start the new year!
