Project 52 Week 4: “Different Perspectives”

The scene:  Sleet and wind outside.  Bedroom.  Tired Kota.  Container of Ground Beef.  AlienBee 800 with soft box.  24-70mm lens.

We didn’t have the most cooperative weather this week so the day I set out to do this assignment we ended up indoors, making the best of the situation!  I put Kota on the bed with ground beef in her presence.  We have to do high value treats a lot of the time with this girl!  She wanted to be outside and was hoping for snow today 🙂

Week 4 of the 52 Week Pet Photography is titled: Different Perspective.  We often tend to see something beautiful, then line up our camera straight ahead to shoot.  My goal was to move around – high, low, angled – and to choose different zoom points with my lens (since I tend to use primes 75% of the time).

Here is what Kota and I came up with for this week!  ( I apologize ahead of time if you notice some pieces of burger on the bed!)

Kota Perspective 1 10 of 1
Eye Level at 35mm

Kota Perspective 2 10 of 1
From below looking up @ 61mm

Kota Perspective 3 10 of 1
standing on chair looking down @ 33mm

Kota Perspective 5 10 of 1
The “I’m done” perspective!!!

As you can clearly see by the look on her face, Kota was NOT loving this “indoors” assignment – haha!  Thanks for stopping by this week!  Next up in our 52 Week Pet Photography Blog Circle is Kim with BARKography based in Charlotte NC.  Enjoy your weekend!

    1. Thank you so much, Jessica! I noticed the pieces of burgers after I saved the pics and didn’t want to edit – adds to the story -exactly! Haha!

  1. I can so relate to the “I’m done” yawn. Moose barks at me when he is done! I particularly love the 2nd image. That angle and those ears – awesome!

    1. Ah… Moose does the “bark” – love it!!! Kota just makes all the expressions 🙂 Thanks! She does have very expressive ears!

    1. Thanks, Elaine! The 2nd was my favorite too… with the “I”m over it” plastered on her face! 🙂 Tough week for weather…. We just want some snow here!!!

  2. Looks like you and I had the same prop – the bed! Why not, mine is on there almost as much as I am, maybe more. Gorgeous dog! And, yes, he was definitely done in the last photo

  3. LOL sounds like all of us have seen the I’m Done Face from our own Models. Kota did great! I too love the second shot. Fabulous!

    1. Thank you, Rochelle! Yes, the 2nd is my favorite…. and all of her “i don’t care” expressions this week!!! 🙂
