Vineyard Blooms for Memory Sessions

Zorvino Vineyards

If you follow my blogging, you may have read before that one of my favorite places to do photo sessions is Zorvino Vineyards in Sandown, NH. I am grateful they permit me to use their grounds early in the mornings.  Sometimes I am there even before the groundskeepers begin their morning shifts.  I love the peacefulness and the beauty – no matter what time of year. They keep the property looking absolutely stunning – and as you might guess, they do a lot of weddings at this venue!

Summer has been a challenge this year with the weather.  I’m not a fan of heat and humidity and we have also had a lot of storms and rainy days.  I do believe we have a record for most rain in Massachusetts for the month of July!  I’ve had to do quite a bit of rescheduling, but we are getting things in!

Memory Sessions

Over half of the photo sessions I do are what I call “Memory Sessions”.  These sessions are for senior and “terminally pets”.  It may sound sad, but they are actually more of a “celebration” of our pets.  The vineyard is my favorite place to do these – a perfect spot for dogs to explore and not very many distractions. I had 3 of these sessions so far for July, and 2 more coming up for this week.  It’s been a very emotional month.  I do shed a lot of tears, but beautiful memories are created.  These sessions warm my heart and I’m grateful to be able to offer them to my clients.  I thought I’d introduce you to Ivy, Daphne, and siblings Samson and Delilah.  We all had some beautiful blooms for our vineyard sessions!

Meet sweet Ivy.  Ivy is 13 and she is doing amazing!!!  Her mom volunteers at the MSPCA Nevins Farm and Ivy has been a star student in “Nosework” classes throughout the years.  I met Ivy when I used to do nosework with my dog, Kota.  It’s a great class for scent driven pups!

Meet adorable Daphne.  This beautiful gal was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. One would never know it!  She was spunky and had the best morning!  Paws crossed she has many more days to enjoy!  She loves car rides and she drove up with mom and dad from Rhode Island for a 5:30 AM session – it was so worth it!

My most recent photo session with these gorgeous siblings Samson and Delilah.  It was drizzly, foggy, and so humid – but we got it done!  These two are littermates and best of friends.  Two peas-in-a-pod right here!  Samson is battling cancer and just completed a 4th round of chemo – this boy is a trooper!  Look at those smiles!

Can you see why I love this place so much?  The dogs love it, too!

Do you have a senior or terminally ill pet?  Let’s create some magic and memories!

Are you free the last Saturday of August?  Zorvino Vineyards is hosting a “Wine for Wags” event! I will be participating and will have a table set up showcasing the various artwork that I offer. I’d love to see you!

This week’s post is part of a professional pet photographer blog circle.  Follow along and click on the link at the end of each post.  Next up is Marika Moffitt of Dirtie Dog Photography in Seattle, Washington shares how incorporating floral landscapes can create new levels of magic for your dog’s photos.  Marika’s work is amazing!!! If you were recently a part of our “Pet Photo BINGO” she’s the inspiration behind that!

  1. Stunning grounds for taking photos. Glad you are doing “Memory Sessions”. Photos you showed of the dogs are stunning.

  2. That is such a wonderful location to be able to photograph at – it’s beautiful! I will say, I am glad it is still dark here at 5:30 – I can’t imagine being out and getting ready to do a photo shoot at 5am! Wonderful photos and models – Memory sessions are so wonderful, but I am also sure they are hard on all the humans.

  3. I’m glad I’m not the only one that cries at other people’s memory sessions (and viewing appointments); it’s been an emotional few weeks for me too, it seems like a particularly bad year loosing so many special pets.
