How are YOU? I know i was asking this same question 2 weeks ago. We are still on lockdown! It was 3 weeks since I’d gotten in the car, and today I headed out to get my dog, Kota, her homeopathic medicine. I get outdoors twice a day to do walks with her, and my husband does the grocery shopping – I appreciate that so much as I don’t have the patience haha!
This week’s pet photographer blog topic is “Wide Open Spaces”, so I thought it was the perfect time to share my last photo session before being homebound in the state of MA. I’m so grateful to have gotten this session in! Maui is 16 years old, and we set aside early on Wednesday morning to celebrate her with her mom and dad.
I met Maui in December. She came to my holiday photos fundraiser at Cat Tales rescue with her 2 other dog siblings, London and Diego – the sweetest family! Mom and dad wanted to dedicate this session solely to her 🙂
We met at a location familiar to Maui in Acton, MA. The parking lot was behind a fire station and there was a big open spot of land before getting to the trails. There was also a little pond on the edge of the open space that was perfect for pictures with the sun coming up and beautiful golden light. It was perfect! We mostly had the area to ourselves, but a dog showed up here and there. Maui loves other dogs, so this worked out well to catch her attention! She has hound in her, so she loves to sniff and have her nose down haha!!!
It was a chilly morning, and a layer of frost coated the ground – i love how it looks with the golden hour light! I love Maui’s pink flower collar – she looked beautiful!
She loved exploring this morning! She had a lot of “pep” in her step, too! I do think she had a great time! Here is her beautiful mom and dad – so much love for this sweet girl! She was a “foster failure” and mom is now a dog lover – this was mom’s first dog!
Thank you for stopping by this week’s blog circle. Next up is Tracy Allard of Penny Whistle Photography fetching portraits in Coppell and surrounding communities in the Dallas – Fort Worth metroplex. I love this so much Darlene! What a sweet old girl Maui is. Our boy Henry has some hound in him too and hangs his head low like Maui does. Such beautiful photos for her family to cherish.
Great shots of Maui especially the last one with Mom & Dad. I also love the pink flower collar. She looks good for sixteen years old.
I love older dogs. I love these photos. I love the last photo with Maui’s pet parents. Beautiful work!
This makes my heart melt. Such lovely images, and I love the contrast between the colorful ones and the more monochromatic ones – great dichotomy. Lovely work as always Darlene.
What a sweet girl Maui is. Love that soft, warm light!
Such sweetness in this senior girl. Your photos have captured it beautifully.
Beautiful – cute pup and agree amazing light.
