Coming Soon: Tails of the North Shore

What if I told you that your pet’s story could be highlighted in a limited edition coffee table book?

I have some exciting news to share with all pet families north of Boston!  I will be publishing a limited edition coffee table book, Tails of the North Shore, featuring stories of YOUR pets in beautiful locations on the North Shore!

This is a HUGE project to tackle – but that’s what happens with time off due to Covid – lots of brainstorming and ideas occur!  Fingers crossed this project will be “smooth sailing”, but if we need to take a break because of the “Pandemic”, we will.

What is a “Tails” book?  The Tails of the World Collective is an International Group of Pet Photographers, each celebrating the dogs (pets!) of their region using the “Tails of” title and transforming stories and stunning images into a limited edition coffee table book.  The “collective” was created several years ago by Caitlin J. McColl of Ragamuffin Pet Photography.  Her very first book was Tails of Melboure.  Caitlin’s words: “My dream was to unite pet photographers across the globe in a mission to raise funds for pet rescue with beautiful photography and heartwarming stories”.  Caitlin has since published 4 more books, including Tails of Tasmania.

When I found out about this amazing idea, I knew I had to be a part of it!  I love Boston, but my heart lies within the towns and cities north of Boston.  I’ve lived on the North Shore for 16 years. I’ve lived in Lynn, Revere, Nahant, Salem (3 locations), Wakefield, and now reside in Georgetown.  There are so many wonderful areas for people to enjoy with their dogs!  Beaches and coastal spots like Salisbury Beach, Plum Island, the Headlands, and Halibut State Park in Rockport to name a few.  We have beautiful trail hikes such as Maudslay State Park and Bradley Palmer State Forest.  There is beauty in parks at Lynch Park and Long Hill in Beverly.  Even the city sidewalks of Ipswich and Newburyport are perfect for strolling with pups and capturing their happiness!

My goal is to photograph at least 40 pets for this project – yes, that’s a lot!!!  Game on!  I am going to document the pets of these areas with their story along with colorful, crisp imagery for the book.  I am partnering with the MSPCA Nevins Farm to raise funds for the animals and their programs within the community to help families and their pets in need.  Half of the session fees with be donated right back to the MSPCA.

    1. Thank you so much, Michelle! I appreciate it! I’m excited for the project – and really looking forward to getting back to our old stomping grounds like Lynn, Swampscott and Marblehead, to do photos!
