Happy New Year and we are off to a brand new start with our 52 Week Pet Photography Blog circle! The first topic of the year is “Shiny” .
I wasn’t sure what to do for this topic. I thought of my dog, Kota, posing with some holiday gifts that were “new and shiny”. I also considered posing her next to my brand new tires that I had put on my Ford Escape – Happy New Year to me – haha! I decided to take her outside in the morning and see what would work for this blog post. Even though we haven’t had much snow this winter, we have had some beautiful golden light – perfect for “sun – SHINE”! The first image shows off some of that beautiful shining winter light just after sunrise.
As I studied Kota, I noticed her amber eyes with a bit of glisten, along with her “winter nose” with that little bit of pink shining.
And guess what else seemed to be catching some light? Kota’s purple id tag attached to her fox collar. Kota has a nice collection of collars and they all fit her personality just perfect!
And one more image that I shared on instagram this week: Kota’s “shining” moment of giving her dad a paw! Look at the way she looks at her dad with those eyes and that smile – two peas in a pod!
Thank you so much for stopping by my first post of 2019! This is a blog circle, so if you click on the link at the end of each post it will take you around our professional pet photographer’s circle and you will get to see a variety of amazing images from each week’s topic! Next up is Tracy Allard of Penny Whistle Photography fetching portraits in Coppell and surrounding communities in Dallas – Fort Worth, Texas. Have great weekend!
Luv these images all – especially the tag, great idea! Nice use of light / great color, and shine in all the pictures
Thanks, Pete! Even though we haven’t had snow, the light had been amazing! I’ve always loved that tag of hers 🙂
Great shiny shots. Good use of light & color. Would like to have seen a shot of those shiny new tires next to Kota.
Thanks! Yes, the amount of money spent on the tires, they deserve to be photographed haha!!!
Kota is adorable Darlene! I love the way you travelled down the “Shiny” pathway discovering as you went 🙂 And Kota’s little smile as she looks lovingly up at Dad!
Thank you so much, Jo! Kota adores her dad – they are two peas in a pod!
Beautiful light Darlene!! But then, Kota looks beautiful in every photo anyway🙂. My absolute favourite here is the one of Kota giving her Dad a paw. Such adoration in that look!! Gorgeous.
Thank you, Lynda! I appreciate it! Kota and dad are best buds!
Oh my goodness, that paw picture is just the sweetest. Kota looks like a love bug and you did a great job showing us her personality.
Thank you so much, Angela! Kota loves to take part in the blogs 🙂
Really pretty images Darlene and that one where he’s looking up, so much emotion in that portrait – well done.
Thank you so much, Tracy!
